Winners of the Genome Research poster competition at The Biology of Genomes meeting are announced.

Congratulations to Grand Prize winner, Dr. Loyal Goff, who was awarded $500 and a one year personal subscription to Genome Research for his outstanding poster presentation entitled, "Genomic relationship between small RNAs and histone modifications revealed by deep sequencing in human embryonic stem (HES) cells," and to Second Prize winner, Dr. Richard Green, who won $250 and a one year personal subscription to Genome Research for his outstanding poster presentation entitled, "An iterative, mapping assembly strategy for next-generation sequencing data enables assembly of otherwise intractable datasets."

Awards were presented May 9, 2009 at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory during the meeting, "The Biology of Genomes."
